Founded in 1886, The Royal Conservatory of Music is the largest and oldest independent arts educator in Canada. It offers opportunities for learning and personal development through music and the arts in all Canadian provinces and increasingly in a number of international settings.

Our students are encouraged to prepare and participate in Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations. But we recognize that usefullness of music examinations depends on the attitude of teacher, parents and student. At Russian Piano School, students prepare for RCM exams starting at Preliminary Level throught ARCT. See our rates for different levels.

Examinations cover practical and theoretical subjects. Participants are evaluated in rudiments, harmony, counterpoint, analysis and history. The theoretical examinations of the Associates of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) cover musical history as well as orchestration. The practical exam consists of an evaluation by an impartial examiner of the student's performance of selected pieces.
